Youth Exchange DARE to CARE

The Youth Exchange “Dare to C.A.R.E.” united 41 young people from 4 different countries in all corners of Europe (Netherlands, Sweden, Romania, and Greece). It will take place in Athens, Greece from 14 to 23 March 2022. The purpose of this exchange was to positively affect the participants toward a more sustainable way of living. The training course “Transformative Youth Leadership” took place at Alicante, Spain with the participation of 20 youth workers from Sweden , Italy , Bulgaria , Spain and North Macedonia

The project promoted a more participatory and less hierarchical leadership model in the field of youth through the mobility of workers. Participants had the opportunity to learn from other leaders and workers in different contexts and countries, broadening their perspectives and knowledge about leadership and collaboration.

In conclusion, the project aimed to:

- Promote a democratic culture, based on dialogue, tolerance and joint decision-making.

- The opposition to hierarchical tendencies among youth, centered on the figure of the "alpha" and the dichotomy between leaders and followers.

- Greater effectiveness of work in the field of youth, increasing its transformative potential and opening up even more to initiatives and experiences arising from the young people with whom we work.

The aim of the YE is to exchange cultures, traditions and lifestyles among different countries and to understand how these can have a positive impact on the daily lives of young people.

The title 'Culture flows in E(U)' is linked to the objectives we want to achieve through this project. Indeed, each nation, and each of us, has traditions that flow within us and impact our habits. At the same time, our national cultural heritage, which seems so different from the ones from other nations, can have many similarities that lead us to have a shared cultural heritage in Europe based on common values.

The project aims:

  • To discover the cultures of other countries, specifically in those aspects that are not explored at school, such as music, traditions and especially food.

  • To exchange healthy practices and good examples from different cultures, which can impact young people in their daily lives.

  • To raise awareness of shared European values.

Participating countries: Sweden, Italy, Spain, Latvia.
