Sustainable Development
IRIS SD is dedicated to fostering sustainable development through education, innovation, and impactful community engagement. As an organisation holding UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status and a member of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), we work at the intersection of grassroots action and global policy. With a focus on environmental and social responsibility, women's empowerment, and the ethical use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, we empower organisations and individuals to embrace sustainable practices and drive positive change. Our initiatives range from training programs and workshops to consulting services, all designed to support a greener, more inclusive, and more resilient future for communities and businesses alike.
Our Work at the United Nations
As a holder of UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status and a member of UN SDSN Youth, IRIS brings grassroots evidence into global policy. We contribute to high-level forums, consultations and dialogues so that community realities and youth voices inform international decision-making on sustainability, human rights and the ethical use of technology.
Our team has submitted written statements to the UN Human Rights Council — including Digital Transformation and the Right to Seeds (A/HRC/63/NGO/414) — and contributed to the Global Dialogue on AI Governance and the UN Commission on the Status of Women. We have taken part in forums at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, including the 2026 Spring Forum, and at UN Headquarters in New York.
